JACKSON -- Funeral for Herbert Ross Kelsey of Clinton will be held at 10 a.m. today at the United Methodist Church in Clinton. Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery at Clinton.
Consalus Funeral Home at Clinton is in charge of arrangements.
Kelsey, 86, died Wednesday, May 19, 1999, near Buffalo, Mo.
He was born April 7, 1913, in Cameron, son of Herbert Clement and Addie Ross Kelsey. He and Lois Ballinger were married May 28, 1938, at St. Joseph.
Kelsey was a music teacher many years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church at Clinton, life member of Missouri State Teachers Association, former member of Clinton Rotary Club, and was leader of Clinton Community Band many years. He served as legislative chairman for Retired Teachers Association of Henry County many years.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jean Graham of Jackson; a son, Dr. Donald Kelsey of Houston, Texas; a brother, Robert Kelsey of Shenandoah, Iowa; a sister, Lois Billings of Kansas City; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
