Herbert Kaufmann

ALTENBURG, Mo. -- Herbert H. "Butch" Kaufmann, 84, of Altenburg died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, at Independence Care Center of Perry County in Perryville, Mo.

He was born Nov. 13, 1926, in Perry County, son of Adolph Henry and Ada Susanna Weinhold Kaufmann.

Mr. Kaufmann was a retired truck driver for LW Transfer, and former co-owner of Appleton Feed in Appleton, Mo. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg.

Survivors include two sisters, Dorothy (Roland) Wachter, Pauline (Eugene) Roth; two brothers, Eugene (Carol) Kaufmann, all of St. Louis, and Hilmer (Verna) Kaufmann of Altenburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Theobald Kaufmann.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 6:30 to 8:15 a.m. Friday at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg, with the Rev. Steven Dressler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg.
