Funeral service for Herbert Greenwood of Cape Girardeau was held Wednesday at Lock Springs United Methodist Church near Chillicothe. The Rev. Earl Griffith officiated, with burial in Lock Springs Cemetery. Bram Funeral Home at Jamesport was in charge of arrangements.

Greenwood, 82, died Monday, Nov. 2, 1992, at Chateau Girardeau Health Care Center.

He was born July 31, 1910, in Caldwell County, son of William and Ida May Greenwood. He and Rita Owen were married Aug. 14, 1946.

Greenwood was a retired farmer, and member of Lock Springs Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Janet Shepard of Cape Girardeau, and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
