Funeral for Herbert Lloyd "Sug" Eldridge of Cape Girardeau will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. The Rev. Charles Lance will officiate. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
Friends may call at the chapel from 4-9 p.m. today.
Eldridge, 67, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born March 6, 1933, in Cape Girardeau, son of Sam and Zola Seabaugh Eldridge. He and Barbara Boucher were married June 2, 1956, in Springfield, Mass.
Eldridge was reared in Cape Girardeau, lived in Scott City, Mo., 38 years, and recently moved back to Cape Girardeau.
He owned a radiator shop many years ago, worked at Monsanto in Chicopee, Mass., worked at Yarbro Service Station, was a mechanic for Buick dealership on Sprigg Street, was plant manager 35 years at Missouri Propane Gas, Empire Gas and Small's Propane. He had also been a race car driver.
Eldridge was a member of First Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Tam Eldridge of Rowlett, Texas, Allen Eldridge of Cape Girardeau, Callie Eldridge of Beaumont, Texas, Christopher Eldridge of Delta, Mo.; three daughters, Bambi Eldridge of Cape Girardeau, Robin Roberts and Lori Hale of Scott City; two brothers, Norman Eldridge of Joplin, Mo., Sam Eldridge of Waltham, Mass.; two sisters, LaWanda Polhamus of Apollo Beach, Fla., Sandra Pool of Benton, Ark.; and 17 grandchildren.
