BENTON -- Henry Leo Urhahn, 86, of Benton died Sunday, March 7, 1999, at Southeast Hospital at Cape Girardeau.

Urhahn was born March 9, 1912, in New Hamburg, son of Lawrence Urhahn and Catherine Geisner.

He married Dixie V. Kirby Sept. 17, 1935, in Benton.

He worked at Buckstein's Pant Factory in Chaffee and was city clerk for Benton for 16 years. He was a member at St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton. He was also a member of Benton Senior Citizens and managed a fast-pitch softball team in Benton for many years.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Larry Urhahn of Benton; two daughters, Janis Vogel of Oran and Sonnie Bollinger of Benton; a sister, Clara Rancileo of St. Louis; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by six brothers.

Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton, with parish prayers at 7.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Denis Catholic Church, with the Rev. Normand Varone officiating. Burial will follow at St. Denis Catholic Cemetery.
