Henry Wesley "Butch" Short Jr., 47, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, July 17, 2001, in the Emergency Room at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 4, 1953, in St. Louis, son of Henry Wesley and Roberta Baumgardner Short.
Short was a construction worker. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Survivors include two sons, Wesley and Cody Short of Scott City, Mo.; his mother, Roberta Layton of Dexter, Mo.; and a sister, Deborah DeLaCruz of Scott City.
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister.
Funeral will be at noon Saturday at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Andrew Lovins will officiate. Burial will be in Hagy Cemetery at Dexter.
Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
