POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Henry Franklin Patterson, 76, departed this life on April 1, 2017, at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff. He was born Feb. 9, 1941, in Blodgett, Missouri, to Cecil Ray Patterson and Novella Gilliland Patterson.
Mr. Patterson was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a retired truck driver. He was a resident of Bell City, Missouri, and was known around town as a giving man who frequently bought coats and jackets to give to those in need.
Mr. Patterson is survived by one daughter, Melissa Cherry of Scott City; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his loving dog, Chase.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Keith Franklin Patterson, and by one brother, Cecil Patterson.
A graveside memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri, with full Military Honors.
