JACKSON, Mo. -- Henry Moyers Jr., 73, of Jackson died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 14, 1928, at Elvins, Mo., son of James H. and Ruth Gamblin Moyers. He and Mary Flanagin McCullough were married Feb. 9, 1979.
Moyers worked in lead mines many years, and retired from ABF in 1989. He was a member of Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158.
He served in the U.S. Army, Army Air Corps, and U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Russell Moyers of Humboldt, Kan., Donald Moyers of Fredericktown, Mo.; two daughters, Connie Tinnin and Cherie McCarey of Fredericktown; his mother of Fredericktown; two stepsons, Roger McCullough of Denver, Colo., Kevin McCullough of St. Louis; a brother, Roy Moyers of Florissant, Mo.; a sister, Donna Stamper of Stafford, Va.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father and two sisters.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 5-8 p.m. today. An American Legion service will be held at 7.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Vernon Long officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery with a Missouri military honors service.
