SIKESTON, Mo. -- Henry John Luber, 89, of Upland, Calif., formerly of Sikeston, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001, at Vencor Hospital in Monterey, Calif.
He was born Aug. 13, 1911, in Pocahontas, Ark., son of John and Bertha Ausman Luber. He and Viola Irene Ford were married Dec. 16, 1938.
Luber moved to Sikeston when he was a young child. He was a certified combination welder at Ford Motor Co. 18 years, and after retiring moved back to Sikeston.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, William Luber of Memphis, Tenn., Gene Luber of Glendora, Calif.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home after noon Saturday.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Tom Geers will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
