BLOOMFIELD -- Henry Ward Jones, 85, of Bloomfield died Thursday, June 19, 1997, at the Baptist Home in Ironton. He was born May 7, 1912, at Bloomfield, son of William and Eda Bolick Jones. He and Thelma Aslin were married Sept. 28, 1932. Jones worked for the U.S. Postal Service in St. Louis 27 years, retiring in 1977 and moving to Bloomfield. BLOOMFIELD -- Henry Ward Jones, 85, of Bloomfield died Thursday, June 19, 1997, at the Baptist Home in Ironton.

He was born May 7, 1912, at Bloomfield, son of William and Eda Bolick Jones. He and Thelma Aslin were married Sept. 28, 1932.

Jones worked for the U.S. Postal Service in St. Louis 27 years, retiring in 1977 and moving to Bloomfield. He was a member of First Baptist Church here.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Joyce Degonia of Maplewood; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, sister, brother, and grandson.

Friends may call at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Saturday.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Greg Greason officiating. Burial will be in North Antioch Cemetery.
