LEOPOLD, Mo. -- Henry Theodore Holzum, 90, of Leopold passed away Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 6, 1925, in Leopold, the son of Robert and Hannah Lenderink Holzum. He and Lorraine Seiler were united in marriage Nov. 8, 1952, at St. John's Catholic Church in Leopold.
Mr. Holzum was a farmer and did some construction work. He was scoutmaster for the Leopold Boy Scout Troop #315 from 1966-1974. He was a member of the Saint John's Catholic Church, the Knight of Columbus #5898 and the Bollinger County Co-op, where he served on the board.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; son, Ted (Vicki) Holzum of Jackson; daughters, Jo Ellen (Norman) Jansen and Leeann (Gerald) Jansen of Leopold; sister, Johanna Broshuis of Jackson; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Theodore Holzum; and sisters Josephine, Helen (John) Seiler and Hilda (Henry) Vandeven.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Missouri. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church at Glennon, Missouri, with the Rev. David Coon officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John's Catholic Church Cemetery in Leopold.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for the St. John's Catholic Church Restoration.
