THEBES, Ill. -- Henry Lee Denton, 85, of Thebes died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, at Metropolis Nursing and Rehab Center in Metropolis, Illinois.
He was born Dec. 25, 1932, in Marston, Missouri, to Noble Earl and Mayme Black Denton. He and Gloria Deane Caldwell were married Nov. 23, 1950, at First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.
Henry was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School.
He was a manager in the industrial radiator manufacturing field.
He was a member of Thebes Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge 283 in Folsomdale, Kentucky.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Deane Denton of Metropolis; a son, David Denton of Thebes; two daughters, Linda (Charles) Smith of Hickory, Kentucky, and Vicki Lee Denton of California; three grandsons, Brad, Matt and Anthony; nine great-grandchildren, Bradley, Kirsten, Emily, Riley Sue, Laken, Blake, Tanner, Lizzie and Lainey; a great-great-grandchild, Keryington; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, William Denton, Alan Denton and Noble Earl Denton Jr.; a sister, Katherine Bandy; and a daughter-in-law, Mary C. Denton.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. A Masonic service will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Raymond McAfee officiating. Burial will be at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
