PERRYVILLE -- Funeral Mass for Henry T. Buchheit of Carlyle, Ill., was held Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Carlyle. The Rev. George Mauck officiated, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle was in charge of arrangements.
Buchheit, 72, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 1997, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese, Ill.
He was born June 6, 1924, in Perry County, son of Henry N. and Sophia Wibbenmeyer Buchheit. He and Lucille Buchheit were married July 3, 1947, at Apple Creek.
Buchheit was an equipment operator with U.S. Corps of Engineers 30 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Knights of Columbus Council 1382, and VFW Post 3523, all in Carlyle. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bob Buchheit of Carlyle, Allen Buchheit of Belleville, Ill.; a daughter, Suzanne Buchheit of Carlyle; four sisters, Hilda Kemna of Jefferson City, Flora Hotop, Cornelia Winkler and Betty Farrar, all of Perryville; and four grandchildren.
