HELENE M. COATS

SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Helene M. Coats will be held at 2 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Tom Gears will officiate, with burial in Sikeston City Cemetery.

Coats, 80, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 1993, in Sikeston.

She was born Jan. 27, 1913, in Sikeston, daughter of William A. and Ester Madge Crafton Johnson. She and Horace Coats were married Oct. 7, 1933. He died Aug. 19, 1981.

Coats had worked at International Shoe Co. here, and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was a volunteer at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Survivors include a son, James Coats of Lawrence, Kan.; two daughters, Virginia Carlisle of Sikeston, Jane Price of St. Louis; a brother, Billy Johnson of Sikeston; a sister, Wilma Deane of Sikeston; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
