Helene Ida (Nagel) Koch, 80, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Dec. 24, 2007, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born May 13, 1927, in Tilsit the daughter of Herman and Lena (Koenig) Nagel. She and J.L. Koch Jr. were married Apr. 27, 1947, in Tilsit. He died Jan. 31, 1989.

Mrs. Koch attended Trinity Lutheran School in Cape Girardeau and graduated from Central High School. She returned to Trinity Lutheran School, working as a cafeteria manager for 15 years and belonged to Trinity School PTL.

She was a den mother and member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she belonged to Senior Ladies Aid and was a greeter. For 20 years, she volunteered at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She is survived by her sons, Douglas (Linda) Koch, Gary (Linda) Koch and Stephen Koch, all of Cape Girardeau; grandchildren Christina Lewis, Crystal Richey, Cassie Panton, Shelly McCoy, Todd Koch, Misty Dunning, Dustin Koch, Ashley Koch; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wedesday, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Douglas C. Breite officiating.

Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran School Building Fund or the Lutheran Home.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
