UNIONTOWN, Mo. -- Helen M. Theiss, 92, of Uniontown died Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 1, 1922, in Alva, Oklahoma, daughter of John Henry and Lillie Elsie Dubben Lohmann. She and Paul Heinrich Theiss were married June 14, 1953. He preceded her in death June 13, 2011.
Helen was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown and LWML, and was organist at the church more than 30 years.
Survivors include a son, Virgil (Barbara) Theiss of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Eldeen (Scott) Rose of Findlay, Ohio; a brother, Edmund Lohmann of Topeka, Kansas; a sister, Louise Schoeling of Alva; and three grandsons, William Paul Rose, Derek Rose and Matthew Theiss.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Walter Lohmann.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 6:30 to 8:15 a.m. Thursday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville, Missouri.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Paul Winningham officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to Saxony Lutheran High School and Grace Lutheran Church.
