SIKESTON -- Helen L. Simmons, 77, of Sikeston died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born Oct. 31, 1921, at Blodgett, daughter of Harry and Elizabeth Huff Pryor. She and Morris Simmons were married June 1, 1942, in Sikeston. He died Feb. 28, 1978...

SIKESTON -- Helen L. Simmons, 77, of Sikeston died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Oct. 31, 1921, at Blodgett, daughter of Harry and Elizabeth Huff Pryor. She and Morris Simmons were married June 1, 1942, in Sikeston. He died Feb. 28, 1978.

Simmons was a member of Smith Avenue Church of God.

Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Sherrod of Bartlett, Tenn.; two brothers, Roy Pryor of Bakersfield, Calif., Lyndell Pryor of state of Alabama; a grandson; and a great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 6-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Larry Arnold officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
