POCAHONTAS -- Helen L. Schattauer, 74, of Pocahontas died Tuesday, June 16, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 18, 1924, in Pocahontas, daughter of Rudolph and Edna Adams Bruhl. She and Gilbert P. Schattauer were married Feb. 8, 1947.
Schattauer was a graduate of Jackson High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University.
She was an elementary teacher in St. Louis, Perry County, and Pocahontas. She also worked with her husband in the former Pocahontas Radio and TV Repair, which they owned from 1947-70.
Schattauer was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, was a Sunday School teacher in the children's department, and was a former member of the Ladies Circle.
Survivors include her husband; and a brother, Dallas Bruhl of Pocahontas.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today, and Thursday at St. John's Church after 10 a.m.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. John Kiehl officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
