Helen O. Myracle, 98, of Jackson died Monday, Aug. 15, 2022, at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Missouri.
She was born Nov. 2, 1923, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, to Darcy O. and Inis McIntosh Faries. She and Wiley E. Myracle were married Jan. 18, 1948, in Piggott, Arkansas. They had been married 40 years when Wiley passed away Sept. 12, 1988.
Helen was a graduate of Holcomb High School in Holcomb, Missouri. She worked at the former small munitions plant and Famous Barr in St. Louis. Wiley was a school teacher and principal, working at several schools in Southeast Missouri and the Jackson School District, and Helen worked many years as a substitute teacher.
She enjoyed going to the casino, listening to Ozark music and flower gardening.
Loving survivors include four children, Art "Dewayne" (Glenda) Myracle, John (Peggy) Myracle, Jerry (Deana) Myracle and Janna Myracle; eight grandchildren, Marci, Katelyn, Scott, Mandy, Franny, Jessica, Emilie and Erica; and 14 great-grandchildren, Eva, Owen A., Raylan, Owen M, Kolin, Wyatt, Liam, Scarlette, Sylas, Luke, Legend, Truth, River and Remi; and a sister-in--law, Elizabeth "Liz" (the late Clyde) Faries.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley; four siblings, Marie Horton, Fred, Charles and Clyde Faries; and two half siblings, George and Joe Richards.
A memorial visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
A celebration of life will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with her nephew Doug Faries officiating. A private family burial will at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
