THEBES, Ill. -- Helen Masterson, 68, of Thebes died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. She was born Oct. 20, 1929, in East St. Louis, daughter of Edward and Lura Coplin Foutch. She and James H. "Johnny" Masterson were married Nov. 29, 1963. He died Oct. 7, 1990...

THEBES, Ill. -- Helen Masterson, 68, of Thebes died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

She was born Oct. 20, 1929, in East St. Louis, daughter of Edward and Lura Coplin Foutch. She and James H. "Johnny" Masterson were married Nov. 29, 1963. He died Oct. 7, 1990.

Survivors include a daughter, Judith Dodson of Metropolis; two sisters, Barbara Shelton of Jackson, Mo., Hazel Garrett of Thebes; six brothers, Raymond Stevenson of Granite City, Ernest Stevenson, Leon and Eddie Foutch, all of Thebes, Eugene and J.P. Foutch of South Roxana.

Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Rose Hill Cemetery at Thebes, with the Rev. Billy Don Heady officiating.

Crain Funeral Home in Tamms is in charge of arrangements.
