JACKSON, Mo. -- Helen Mae Penrose, 79, of Jackson, Mo., died Friday, June 8, 2001, at her home.

She was born Aug. 30, 1921, in Jackson, daughter of William and Ella Johnson Lowes. On Nov. 19, 1944, she married Russell Penrose. He survives of the home.

She was a homemaker and a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Mae Overbeck of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.

A graveside service will begin at 10 a.m. today at Russell Heights Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Northcutt officiating.

Cracraft-Miller Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.
