HELEN M. MATTHEWS

Helen M. Matthews, 66, of Cape Girardeau, died Friday, Nov. 7, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 13, 1931, at Marble Hill, daughter of Homer E. and Lillie Myrtle Bollinger Hurst.

She attended Lynwood Baptist Church of Cape Girardeau.

On July 17, 1956, she married Charles L. Matthews in Marble Hill. He survives.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Mark Matthews of Harlingen, Texas; a brother, Carl E. Hurst of Marble Hill; and two sisters, Margie Runnels and Brenda Huff, both of Marble Hill.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. Funeral service will be at the funeral home Monday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Mark Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park, near Marble Hill.
