Helen Liley

MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Helen Louise Liley, 81, of St. Louis, formerly of Marble Hill, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004, at Brookview Nursing Home in Maryland Heights, Mo.

She was born April 23, 1923, in Stanton, Texas, daughter of John and Lucille Richards Phillips. She and James A. Liley Jr. were married Aug. 16, 1944.

Liley was a member of the Marvin Park United Methodist Church, the Girl Scouts, a Boy Scouts den mother and a member of the United Methodist Women.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Chuck Liley of Tucson, Ariz., and James A. Liley III of Nevada, Mo.; a sister, Betty Eatherton of Las Vegas, Nev.; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Fred Ritter officiating. Burial will be in McGee Chapel Cemetery near Grassy, Mo.
