PUXICO -- Helen Jenkins, 87, of Puxico died Wednesday, July 7, 1999, at her home. She was born Nov. 22, 1911, in Indiana, daughter of Oscar and Altie Ellis. She and Oral W. Jenkins were married Sept. 14, 1935. He died Nov. 24, 1998. Jenkins lived in Stoddard County all her life, and in Puxico since 1941. She was a member of Brown General Baptist Church...

PUXICO -- Helen Jenkins, 87, of Puxico died Wednesday, July 7, 1999, at her home.

She was born Nov. 22, 1911, in Indiana, daughter of Oscar and Altie Ellis. She and Oral W. Jenkins were married Sept. 14, 1935. He died Nov. 24, 1998.

Jenkins lived in Stoddard County all her life, and in Puxico since 1941. She was a member of Brown General Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Bob Jenkins of Advance, David Jenkins of Perryville; two daughters, Marilyn Luetkenhaus of Wentzville, Donna Fortner of Mountain View; a brother, Sherman Ellis of Michigan; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, a brother, and two sisters.

Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico after 6 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Brown Church, with the Revs. Melvin Keena, Ray Placher and John Buttry officiating. Burial will be in North Antioch Cemetery near Bloomfield.
