CAIRO, Ill. -- Helen S. Hornberger, 93, of Cairo died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 24, 1907, in Eldorado, Ill., daughter of the late Arthur and Elsie Porter. She and George Roy Hornberger Sr. were married. He died in 1997.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cairo. She and her husband owned George Roy's Heating and Cooling in Cairo before retirement.
Survivors include one daughter, Louise Tucker of Huntsville, Ala.; two sons, George Roy Hornberger Jr. and David A. Hornberger, both of Cairo; two sisters, Joann Wilson of Phoenix, Ariz., and Dorothy Hornberger of Eldorado; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge, Ill., with the Rev. Jerome Fortenberry officiating.
Barkett Funeral Home of Cairo is in charge of arrangements.
