Helen Hill

Helen Merlene Hill, 84, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, Sept. 27, 2019, at Southeast Hospital.

She was born June 21, 1935, in Gipsy, Missouri, to the late William A. and Vesta J. Meador Rea. Helen married Carlton W. Hill. He preceded her in death in 2015.

Loving survivors include five sons, Sammy D. (Kim) Talley of Jackson, Kenny D. (Mary Lou) Talley of Gipsy, Trennis "Tooter" (Lawanda) Talley of Dexter, Missouri, Terry D. (Kristine) Sparkman of Dexter and Mike L. (Misty) Sparkman of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Cindy R. (Jeff) Slagley of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Robert (Lois) Rea of South Roxana, Illinois; one sister, Doris Lorene Talley of Caseyville, Illinois; 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, James D. Talley; two brothers; one sister and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Berrong Cemetery in Gipsy.
