CHAFFEE -- Funeral for Helen S. Held, Chaffee Route 1, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City. The Rev. Joel Sarrault will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 5-8 p.m. today.
Held, 75, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 1998, at her home.
She was born Feb. 15, 1923, in Half Moon, Ark., daughter of Henry and Lula Purcell Cruse. She and Clarence F. "Butch" Held were married Jan. 21, 1955, in Clarksdale, Miss.
Held farmed with her husband, and was a member of Eisleben Church. She moved to the area in the 1940s from Arkansas.
Survivors include her husband; three stepsons, Ronnie Held of Chaffee, Norman Held of Walls, Miss., Gilbert Held of Norman, Okla.; three stepdaughters, Mary Lee, Shirley Cook and Kay Stull, all of Scott City.
Also surviving are two brothers, Tommy Cruse of Elvins and Henry Cruse of Scott City; two sisters, Evelyn Brown of Scott City, Lois Skaggs of Elvins; and 12 grandchildren.
