Helen H. Harlow, 80, of Parsons, Kan., died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 1997, at the home of a daughter in Wichita, Kan. She was born July 24, 1917, in Chautauqua County, Kan., daughter of Neal L. and Cora E. Hess Sullivan. She and Paul F. Harlow were married April 18, 1935, in Oklahoma City, Okla. He died April 14, 1992...

Helen H. Harlow, 80, of Parsons, Kan., died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 1997, at the home of a daughter in Wichita, Kan.

She was born July 24, 1917, in Chautauqua County, Kan., daughter of Neal L. and Cora E. Hess Sullivan. She and Paul F. Harlow were married April 18, 1935, in Oklahoma City, Okla. He died April 14, 1992.

Harlow was a 1964 graduate of Parsons Junior College and 1971 graduate of Pittsburg State University. She had worked at Ordnance Plant, U.S. Army Reserve Office, Parsons Recreation Commission, had been an elementary school teacher's aide, and a school librarian.

She was a member of First Christian Church and Christian Women's Fellowship, and a Sunday School teacher. She had been a member of the Mother's Club of Parsons since 1946, and was chairman of Parsons Tree Advisory Board.

Survivors include a son, James Harlow of Wichita; three daughters, Grace Chickadonz of Rochester, N.Y., Roberta Whetzel of Wichita, Coralie Robertson of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Neal Sullivan of Anchorage, Alaska; three sisters, Virginia Wallace and Marjorie Davis of Cedar Vale, Kan., Hilda Lowe of Derby, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter.

Friends may call at Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Parsons from 7-8:30 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church in Parsons, with the Rev. Gene Akeman officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
