Helen Deal

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Helen Deal, 86, of Sikeston died Thursday, March 4, 2004, at Miner Nursing Center.

She was born March 18, 1917, at Blodgett, Mo., the daughter of Arley Harrison "Jack" and Arta Elizabeth Clippard Johnson. She married Heschel Deal on March 19, 1961, at Charleston, Mo.

Deal was employed by the Board of Public Works and Walton-Williams Motor Company before working as a caseworker at Scott County Family Services for 23 years. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; three stepdaughters, Nancy Zickefoose of Des Moines, Iowa, Debbie Casey of Dexter, Mo., Patricia Scott of Maryland Heights, Mo; four cousins; seven stepgrandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a stepgrandson.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. Saturday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Tom Geers will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
