HELEN CLARK

Helen Clark, 87, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 1997, at Heartland Care Rehab Center.

She was born Oct. 1, 1910, in Iola, Kan., daughter of Frank and Molly Fulks Thornton. She and Wilbon Clark were married in 1932 in St. Louis. He died in February 1972.

Clark had been a seamstress and had worked in a dry goods store. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Newcomers, and Welcome Wagon.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Baker of St. Robert; a brother, Lawrence Thornton of Fredericktown; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

There is no visitation or funeral service. Burial will be private in Memorial Park.
