Helen Bridges

BERTRAND, Mo. -- Helen Bridges, 77, of Bertrand passed away Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014, at her home.

She was born Dec. 26, 1936, in Edwardsville, Illinois, daughter of Louis and Edna Sutton Blumberg.

Helen was a member of First Baptist Church in Mounds, Illinois, where her husband, the Rev. Tom Bridges, is serving as pastor. Helen and her husband have been affiliated with several churches over the years in Southern Illinois and Southeast Missouri.

She was also a sales associate 23 years at Wal-Mart in Sikeston, Missouri.

Survivors include her husband, Tom Bridges of Bertrand; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Tom L. and Carol Bridges of Tamms, Illinois, and Chuck Bridges of Benton, Missouri; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Buddy Walls officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery near Dongola, Illinois.
