Helen Jeanette Bowers, 94, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at the Monticello House in Jackson.
She was born Jan. 2, 1922, near Zalma, Missouri, the daughter of Otto and Opal Carlton. She and Orville Truman Bowers were married April 10, 1942. He preceded her in death Jan. 24, 2009.
Helen graduated from Zalma High School and was a member of Old Salem United Methodist Church.
Loving survivors include two daughters, Wanda Bowers of Cape Girardeau and Vonda Hoffman-Carnell (Randy) of Jackson; two sons, Michael (Debbie) Bowers of Cape Girardeau and Stanley Bowers of Kent, Washington; seven grandchildren, Brandy (Neil) Wibbenmeyer, Mandy Grogan (Corey May), Erica (Matt) Miller, Jason (Ashley) Bowers, Tammy (Zach) Fulenwider, Michelle (Shiloh) Smith and Angella Bowers; and 12 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Parker and Tessa Quade, Austin and Brylie Grogan, Hayden and Daegan Bowers, Isabelle and Emma Fulenwider and Acacia, Aurora and Aragon Smith.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Clinton Carlton; an infant sister; and two infant granddaughters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Michael Bowers officiating. Burial will be in Balch Cemetery near Zalma.
Memorial contributions may be given to Southeast Hospice.
