Helen Audrey Law, 70, of West Roxbury, Mass., died Sunday, Nov. 24, 1991, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton, Mass., following a lengthy illness.
She is the mother of Bernard Cardinal Law, archbishop of Boston. He was bishop of the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau from 1973-84.
Helen Law was born Aug. 2, 1911, in Umatilla County, Oregon, daughter of Francis M. and Myrtle Morris Stubblefield. She married Col. Bernard A. Law in 1930 in Torreon, Mexico, He died in 1955.
She was an accomplished pianist, and taught first grade 20 years. She had lived in the Boston area since 1984.
Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston. Archbishop Law will officiate, with burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery in West Roxbury.
