Helen Ann Perry, 87, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, at Southeast Hospital. She was born July 1, 1929, in Cape Girardeau to John William and Nancy Sophronia Ballard O'Howell. She and Elmer J. Perry were married Nov. 20, 1948, at Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death March 15, 2002...

Helen Ann Perry, 87, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, at Southeast Hospital.

She was born July 1, 1929, in Cape Girardeau to John William and Nancy Sophronia Ballard O'Howell. She and Elmer J. Perry were married Nov. 20, 1948, at Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death March 15, 2002.

She was a member of Red Star Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for over 35 years, belonged to the Women's Missionary Union and was a choir member. She also was a member of KeenAgers, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and 4-H.

Helen had worked at Superior Electric for over 35 years and at Wee Care for over 20 years. She was a graduate of College High School in Cape Girardeau.

Helen was a volunteer at Southeast Hospital.

She was a beloved mother who was loved by all and who loved all.

Survivors include a son, John David Perry of Cape Girardeau; special family friend, Stephen Bradford Williams of Cape Girardeau; sister, Nancy LaVaughn (Wesley) Rees of Cape Girardeau; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Willard Dudley, William Lee, James and Raymond O'Howell; and sisters, Nellie McCain and Mary O'Howell.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Matthews officiating. Entombment will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to Red Star Baptist Church.
