BERTRAND -- H.B. Turnbo, 75, of Bertrand died Friday, June 4, 1999, at Sikeston Health Care Center. He was born June 23, 1923, at Steele, son of William Carroll and Nora Inman Turnbo. He and Dorothy Boyd were married July 3, 1951. Turnbo moved to Bertrand five years ago from Poplar Bluff, and had formerly lived in East Prairie. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Poplar Bluff. Turnbo served in the U.S. Army during World War II...

BERTRAND -- H.B. Turnbo, 75, of Bertrand died Friday, June 4, 1999, at Sikeston Health Care Center.

He was born June 23, 1923, at Steele, son of William Carroll and Nora Inman Turnbo. He and Dorothy Boyd were married July 3, 1951.

Turnbo moved to Bertrand five years ago from Poplar Bluff, and had formerly lived in East Prairie. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Poplar Bluff. Turnbo served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Donna Winters of Portageville; a stepdaughter, Brenda Call of Florissant; a stepson, Rondal Call of Imperial; two brothers, Frank Turnbo of East Prairie, W.C. Turnbow of Sikeston; two sisters, Clara Frankum of Sikeston, Opal Scherer of Advance; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 4 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Pat Hogan officiating. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
