Hazel Louise Vetter, 87, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Commerce, Mo., died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born Dec. 23, 1923, at Vanduser, Mo., daughter of Leslie Herman and Emma Irene Osborn Jacobs. She and John Ambrose Vetter were married Feb. 8, 1958. He preceded her in death Sept. 6, 1985.
Vetter was a member of La Croix United Methodist Church.
Survivors include five sons, Bob Rickman of Imperial, Mo., Ronald Rickman of Bellevue, Neb., Alan Rickman of Cape Girardeau, Larry Rickman of Oak Ridge, John Vetter of Scott City; a daughter, Sharon Hudson of Imperial; a sister, Shirley Frye of Fort Myers, Fla.; three half brothers, Jimmy Jacobs of Muskogee, Okla., Billy Jacobs of Fort Smith, Ark., Lester Garrett of Benton, Mo.; a half sister, Betty Stone of Poplar Bluff, Mo., nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a sister and a grandchild.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel. The Rev. Ron Watts will officiate. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery near Commerce.
