MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Hazel Laverne VanGennip, 70, of Marble Hill died Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, at her home.
She was born May 20, 1936, in Glenallen, Mo., daughter of Floyd Kelley and Stella Frances Gregory Christy. She and Robert VanGennip were married June 16, 1956.
VanGennip worked 16 years at Safeco Insurance Co. in St. Louis, and was a bookkeeper 30 years at VanGennip Oil Co., retiring in 2002.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Christy Roberts of St. Louis; a brother, Walter Christy of O'Fallon, Mo.; three sisters, June Fries of Kansas City, Mo., Mae Young of Gravois Mills, Mo., Fern Crump of Sandwich, Ill.; and a grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, two brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Fred Ritter officiating. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery.
