Hazel Smith Meystedt, 88 years of age, of 1213 Jefferson in Cape Girardeau passed away Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born Feb. 15, 1910, in Marked Tree, Ark., worked at the Florsheim Shoe Factory for 15 years and later worked for Buckner-Ragsdale Clothing Store for 20 years as a sales lady.
On Oct. 6, 1934, she married Clarence Meystedt in Vienna, Ill. He passed away Sept. 21, 1961.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Kermit and Sandy Meystedt of Cape Girardeau; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and David LeGrand of Cape Girardeau; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Kathleen Meystedt, and a granddaughter, Jessica LeGrand.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, 1998, at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel, with the Rev. Jeffrey Sippy officiating.
Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel.
