JACKSON, Mo. -- Hazel Deen Proffer, 88, of Jackson died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 7, 1912, at Millersville, Mo., daughter of Benjamin and Jeffie Arizona Davis Davenport. She and Alton Glenn Proffer were married Feb. 26, 1938. He died March 15, 2000.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Joyce Proffer and Loyce and Bob Flannery of Jackson; two brothers, Roy and Ray Davenport of Jackson; a sister, Grace Proffer of Jackson; three grandchildren, Joy Flannery and Doug Flannery of Whitewater, Mo., Tim Flannery of Marble Hill, Mo.; and two great-grandchildren, Robert Flannery of Burfordville, Mo., and Bridgett Baker of Whitewater.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Troy and Carl, and a sister, Jewell.
Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Janet Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association or Alzheimer's disease and related disorders.
