SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Hazel Gertrude Mayfield, 96, formerly of Scott City, died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at Delmar Gardens Nursing Home in Creve Coeur, Mo. She was born April 1, 1905, in Point Isabel, Ind., daughter of O.W. and Effie M. Lowe Vawter. She and Ralph A. Mayfield were married May 16, 1922, in St. Louis. He died March 14, 1960...

SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Hazel Gertrude Mayfield, 96, formerly of Scott City, died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at Delmar Gardens Nursing Home in Creve Coeur, Mo.

She was born April 1, 1905, in Point Isabel, Ind., daughter of O.W. and Effie M. Lowe Vawter. She and Ralph A. Mayfield were married May 16, 1922, in St. Louis. He died March 14, 1960.

Survivors include a nephew, George Vawter of St. Louis.

She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City after 9 a.m. Friday.

Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
