Hazel Masterson

Hazel Masterson, 90, of , Jackson, died Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 15, 1934, in Neely's Landing to Alfred F. Meyer and Vertie Cotner Meyer.

Hazel and Joe Masterson were married June 17, 1951, at New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson.

Survivors include daughter, Carol (Mike) Keen; son, Mark (Ruth) Masterson; brother, Eugene (Gloria) Meyer; sister, Brenda (Steve) Reed; and five grandchildren, Jason (Katy) Liley, Travis (Monika) Keen, Alisha (Nathan) Turley, Justin (Jessica) Keen, and Erica Masterson-Sterling. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Masterson; and brother, Harvey Meyer.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, at the funeral home with the Rev. Bryan Wendling officiating. Burial will be at Russell Heights following the service.

Memorial contributions may be given to New McKendree UMC, Providence Hospice or American Cancer Society.
