SIKESTON -- Hazel Marie Badgett, 81, of Sikeston, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 1991, at Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was born Jan. 8, 1910, in Ellington, daughter of William Thomas and Charlottie Vineyard Layne. She married James Franklin Badgett July 9, 1929. He died Jan. 1, 1987...

SIKESTON -- Hazel Marie Badgett, 81, of Sikeston, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 1991, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 8, 1910, in Ellington, daughter of William Thomas and Charlottie Vineyard Layne. She married James Franklin Badgett July 9, 1929. He died Jan. 1, 1987.

Badgett was a member of Diehlstadt General Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Helen Hilgendorf of Heber Springs, Ark., Carolyn Latimore of Dexter; two grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by five brothers.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at McMikle Funeral Chapel in Charleston. The Rev. Raymond Hannah will officiate, with burial in Maynard Cemetery near Diehlstadt.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today.
