HATTIE A. SCHMIDT

JACKSON -- Hattie A. Schmidt, 90, of Jackson, died Thursday, July 7, 1994, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born May 15, 1904, in Wittenberg, daughter of Martin and Dorothea Fiehler Gemeinhardt. She and L.E. Schmidt were married Sept. 27, 1925. He died July 10, 1983.

Schmidt was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church at Pocahontas, and member of its Ladies Aid.

Survivors include two sons, L.V. Schmidt of Memphis, Tenn., Rev. Earl Schmidt of Ada, Minn.; a daughter, Lavern Wachter of Jackson; a brother, Eno Gemeinhardt of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Zion Church, with the Rev. Howard Mueller officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
