Hassie Jones

GRANITE CITY, Ill. -- Hassie Reba Jones, 92, of Granite City passed away Monday, Oct. 31, 2016, at Hitz Memorial Home in Alhambra, Illinois.

She was born April 14, 1924, at Hahn, Missouri, the daughter of Noah and Anna Newell Kirkpatrick.

Hassie had been a homemaker and believed in the Pentecostal faith.

Hassie and Finis Harrington were united in marriage Jan. 18, 1941, in Bollinger County, Missouri, and he preceded her in death July 17, 1982.

Survivors include a son, Ronald Harrington of Godfrey, Illinois; four daughters, Peggy Glendenning of Palmer, Texas, Carol Meyers of St. Jacob, Illinois, Sandy Rowen of Pontoon Beach, Illinois, and Donna Harrington of Bethalto, Illinois; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; six brothers; and five sisters.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, Missouri.

A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. today at the chapel, with the Rev. Ronnie McAtee officiating. Burial will be at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
