Harvey Kiefer

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Harvey V. "Tud" Kiefer, 84, of Perryville died Monday, March 18, 2002, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 5, 1917, in Perryville, son of Andrew H. and Albertine A. Feltz Kiefer. He first married Margaret Sandlin Oct. 16, 1935. She died April 3, 1955. He and Rita A. L'Hote were married Dec. 27, 1982.

Kiefer was an automobile dealer and owned Kiefer Wrecker Service until retiring. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, and was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife; a stepdaughter, Janice Proctor of Phoenix, Ariz.; two stepsons, Donald Giesler of Perryville, Daryl Giesler of Ste. Genevieve; two brothers, Lloyd and Melvin Kiefer of Perryville; a sister, Mildred Mitchell of Perryville; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, a grandson, a sister and two brothers.

Friends may call at Miller Family Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and from 6:30 to 9:50 a.m. Thursday. Parish prayers will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Thursday.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
