PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Harvey H. Hayden, 76, of Perryville died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, at his home.
He was born May 9, 1935, in McBride, Mo., son of Joseph and Emma Otto Hayden. He and Joan E. Esselman were married July 27, 1957. She preceded him in death March 27, 2010.
Mr. Hayden had been a farmer and co-owner of Harvey's Restaurant. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sereno, Mo., and Knights of Columbus Council 1263.
Survivors include a son, Rickie (Patricia) Hayden of Perryville; two daughters, Tina (Russell) Richardet of Perryville, Patricia "Trish" (Jeff) Becker of St. Louis; five brothers, Melvin (Vivian) Hayden, Norman "Dude" (Virginia) Hayden, Joseph (Marie) Hayden, Roy (Ottolene) Hayden, Merlin "Dub" (Velma) Hayden, all of Perryville; two sisters, Iona Beckerman of Perryville and Lawana (Eldor) Mueller of Arnold, Mo.; three sisters-in-law, Margaret "Peggy" Hayden, Ruth Hayden and Carol Verseman, all of Perryville; eight grandchildren, David, Miranda and Melissa Hayden, Ryan and Justin Richardet, Hunter, Alex and Bo Becker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three sons, David, Harvey Jr. and an infant son; and three brothers, William, Harold and Donald Hayden.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 6:30 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. Parish wake will be at 7 p.m. Friday. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Victory Church, with the Rev. Francis Agnew officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.
Memorials are preferred to charity of choice.
