DELTA -- Harvey A. Howell, 69, of Delta died Thursday, June 20, 1996, at his home. He was born on May 16, 1927, in Vanduser, the son of William and Lucy Ann Smith Howell. On Nov. 5, 1981, he married Novella Slinkard Borneman. Howell was a member of the Abundant Life Church in Gordonville and a lifetime member of the Chaffee VFW Post 3127. DELTA -- Harvey A. Howell, 69, of Delta died Thursday, June 20, 1996, at his home.

He was born on May 16, 1927, in Vanduser, the son of William and Lucy Ann Smith Howell. On Nov. 5, 1981, he married Novella Slinkard Borneman.

Howell was a member of the Abundant Life Church in Gordonville and a lifetime member of the Chaffee VFW Post 3127. He was a member of the Chaffee American Legion Post 389, having served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Mark Howell of Independence; two stepsons, William M. Borneman Jr. of Cape Girardeau and Guy Edward Borneman of Allenville; three daughters, Linda Kilburn of Grain Valley, Donna Rector of Independence and Mickey Howell of Overland Park, Kan.; a stepdaughter, Karen O'Connor of St. Charles; a brother, William Howell of Advance; a sister, Irene Gill of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and 14 step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 5 p.m. today.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. David Butler officiating. Burial will follow in Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
