GLEN ALLEN -- Harry Frederick Wells, 83, of Glen Allen died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, Calif.
He was born on Nov. 13, 1915, in Hackney, London, England, son of George and Lydell Yendll Wells.
He worked for 35 years as a shipping director for Alexander Howden Import and Export.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the British Army in the Italian campaign.
He married Elsie Wells on April 13, 1941, at Alton, Hampshire, England.
Survivors include a daughter, Carole Megran of Glen Allen; a sister, Bette Bratchett of Kent, England; and three grandchildren.
He moved to Glen Allen in October 1998.
Friends may call from noon to 2 Monday at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel.
The Rev. Gerald Huff will officiate, with burial in McKee Chapel Cemetery in Glen Allen.
