JACKSON -- Funeral service for Harry P. Hutchings Jr. of Valrico, Fla., was held May 17 at Stowers Brandon Funeral Chapel in Brandon, Fla. Burial was in Brandon Cemetery.

Hutchings, 66, died Wednesday, May 15, 1991, at his home.

He was born Oct. 19, 1924, at Flat River. He had lived at Jackson more than 10 years, and had been a business agent for Teamsters Local 574 in Cape Girardeau. He was a past president of the Eagles Lodge there.

Hutchings had lived in the Tampa Bay area 10 years. He was a member of VFW Post 2410, Harlingen-San Benito Memorial in Texas, and Brandon Masonic Lodge 114. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and received three Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart.

Survivors include his wife, Wilma; a son, Harry P. "Butch" Hutchings III of Denver, Colo.; a daughter, Barbara Miller of Brandon; a brother, Robert Hutchings of Jackson; two sisters, Delores Sellards of Sonoma, Calif., Linda of Texas, and two grandchildren.
