Harry Leward McDonald, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Jan. 7, 1996, at his home.
He was born March 10, 1917, at St. Louis to Charles and Lea Anna Tyler McDonald. In 1959, he married Rose Lee Brock, who died in 1971.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1941 through 1946. He worked as a laborer for St. Louis County for 15 years before retiring at the age of 72.
He was baptized into the Catholic faith in July and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors are a daughter, Joyce Wade of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Wade Funeral Home in St. Louis. Services will be at noon Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Glenn Eftink officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale South Cemetery in St. Louis.
